Ekopia is a community benefit co-operative located in Findhorn raising funds to support local community enterprises. Founded in 2001, we are registered as an Industrial and Provident Society.
Investments held include those in:
- Findhorn Wind Park
- Findhorn Foundation
- New Findhorn Directions Chalets
- Phoenix Community Stores
- Newbold House
- Station House Co-operative.
Other Ecovillage Initiatives include:
- Eco-housing and Infrastructure
- Grant Aided Projects
- Eko Currency.
Ekopia is located at Findhorn, Moray, in the northeast of Scotland. We are part of the Ecovillage associated with the Findhorn Foundation, which celebrated its 45th birthday in 2007. We work closely with a variety of local stakeholders several of whom are represented on the Board.
Ekopia currently has more than 250 members, and manages assets in excess of £650,000. We are a founder member of Development Trusts Association Scotland and a member of Co-operatives UK and the New Findhorn Association.
